Abstract
In this paper, robust observers for linear systems with unknown inputs are reviewed. Both full and reduced order designs are considered. Transformations and substitutions based on coordinate system are used and existence conditions are provided. Full order observer designs are simple and estimates all states, those of reduced order are more complex and have the advantage of avoiding redundancy caused by reconstructing accessible states. Designs, advantages and drawbacks of the reviewed techniques are pointed and illustrated by means of the same numerical example. Keywords: Robust observers, full order observers, reduced order observers, linear systems, Unknown inputs.
