ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the design and evaluation of a generalized H (GH) controller to improve the steady state and transient performance of a generator system. The design is based on the polynomial rather than state space approach. Uncertainties are taken into account in a robust fixed parameter and structure control law to allow for parameter variations and perturbations acting on the electrical power system. The proposed GH controller and the well known H, µ-analysis and synthesis are evaluated under different operating regimes of the generator system.
