Abstract:

This paper introduces multi-converter multi-machine systems (MMS) with the aim to investigate the features composed of several machines and/or
several converters in variable speed electrical drives application with special emphasis for the electric traction application such as the electric vehicle. The considered propulsion system topology permits the development of an electronic differentialensuring driving wheel speed synchronization during their traction. The vehicle is propulsed by two permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) that allow the drive of the two back driving wheels. The proposed independent machine control structure for speed control permits the achievement of an electronic differential. This paper presents the study and the strategy of control of the propulsion system of two driving wheels realizing the electronic differential.
