Abstract:

This paper applies fuzzy dynamic programming technique to analyse perishable inventory systems with crisp transformation function. We consider both objective function and constraints are as fuzzy sets. In this model, backlogging is not allowed, since the items in the inventory are perishable. The existence of optimal solution for perishable inventory system by applying fuzzy dynamic programming approach is studied. Numerical examples and sensitivity analysis are discussed to illustrate the optimal decision in a fuzzy environment.

Keywords: fuzzy sets, fuzzy dynamic programming, perishable inventory control.
