Abstract:

This paper presents a review of recently used direct torque and flux control (DTFC) techniques for voltage source inverter-fed induction motors. A Variety of techniques, different in concept, are described as follows: the conventional DTC (C_DTC), modified DTC (M_DTC) and and shift zone DTC (S_DTC) have been analysed and compared in order to evaluate the influence of the motor operating condition on steady state performances. A particular emphasis on stator flux trajectory, torque ripple and stator current distortion has been made. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Keywords: induction motor, direct torque control, three phase inverter, look-up table.
