Abstract:

The DPC (Direct Power Control) strategy was intensively utilized and investigated on grid-connected PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) bi-directional rectifiers. Particularly, the VF-DPC (Virtual Flux oriented DPC) that grid-side voltage transducers and hysteresis band controllers are replaced by virtual flux estimators and PWM modulator; attracts more interests due to its robustness, simple implementation, decoupled active and reactive power control, etc. Nevertheless, for employing the active filtering (AF) capability of PWM rectifier under large line voltage unbalance and harmonic distortion, some complicated techniques along with precise and fast ADC converters should be used. In this paper, a novel control strategy is proposed based on good specifications of V-DPC (Voltage oriented DPC) with compensation and reconstruction of line voltages in order to improve the current waveform under distorted and unbalanced line voltage conditions even with normal precision and speed on-chip ADC of general purpose DSP or microcontroller devices, and experimental results are presented to validate the proposed strategy.
