Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of designing a fuzzy logic PI controller for a class of Multi-input Multi-output (MIMO) systems having a polynomial input nonlinearity. The MIMO system is decomposed into Multi-input Single-output (MISO) subsystems. By this decomposition, the identification, decoupling and control become more performing and easy. We propose to approximate all the interactions between the loops, the nonlinearities and disturbances using the polynomial approach. The control is conducted at the level of each subsystem and the decoupling is easily achieved by compensation of the cross-coupling. Then the control of a MIMO system is transformed into the control of a set of coupled nonlinear MISO subsystems. A good performance for tracking is obtained using fuzzy logic PI controller. The validity and robustness of the proposed approach is tested on a simulation example.
