Abstract
Optimum design of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) requires knowledge of its parameters, such as inductance, flux linkage and torque. In this paper, the model of SRM with two different stator pole shapes have been developed and analyzed with ANSYS (Analysis System) Workbench. The variation of inductance, flux density and directional force with respect to rotor position for both the models have been gathered, which are the fundamental characteristics of SRM and have significant influences on motor performance. It is observed that the proposed parallel slot type stator pole (model 2) gives the improved flux density and directional force/ Torque.
