Abstract:

TThis paper deals with a robust control strategy of a non-linear bioprocess. The main objective is to maintain the regulation of output variables in spite of disturbances and variation of operating points. A systematic approach is first proposed to approximate the non-linear model by a set of disturbed linear models. Robust ∞ H controllers are then scheduled on every linear model under a quadratic stability constraint. The performances of the proposed approach are finally illustrated by means of simulation results using Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) concepts and convex programming tools.

Keywords: control, gain scheduling, LMI, bioprocess.

Biography:

A/Prof. Dr. Olfa Boubaker was born in Tunis (Tunisia) in 1969. She received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1991 and the D.Sc. Degree in Control Engineering in 1995, from ENSET, Tunisia, respectively. In 2000, she is graduated from National Engineering school of Tunis, ENIT and received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering. Since 2000, Dr. Olfa Boubaker is a permanent Associate Professor at National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, INSAT, Tunisia, where she is in charge of the Automatic Control Teaching and where she manages a research group (Robust Control of Multivariable Systems). Since 1996, she is a permanent visitor of LAAS, CNRS (Toulouse/France). Her fields of interest include distributed parameter systems, variable structure systems, non linear systems, robust observers and robust control, and integrate many applications in biotechnology.
