This Award has been assigned to the research group of Prof. Dr. Joze Balic based on the global benefits of the presented research work, the applicability of the techniques presented in the article, the overall quality of the paper where it received a Very Good overall Grade, the professional talk he gave and finally on his academic history.

We appreciate his participation and acknowledge the support of the University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, to encourage such high quality R&D projects.

 

Prof. Dr. Joze Balic is a professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor, Slovenia. He is the vice dean for research work, Also, he is head of Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, head of research group "Dynamic, Intelligent and Integrated Technology and Systems, member of National science board technology (Slovenian Research Agency), vice-president of DAAAM International, Vienna (Danube Adria Association for Automation and Manufacturing). member of World academy of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering (http://www.wamme.org) . He is the author of over 100 original scientific papers for the world's leading journals and over 200 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific conferences covering computer integrated manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing and advanced manufacturing technologies. He was invited lecturer in several international scientific conferences and at foreign universities. He is author or co-author of five scientific monographs and 15 university textbooks. He has one U.S. patent, one Germany patent, and two domestic patents. He is editor-in-chief of one international scientific journal and member of editorial board of several international journals. He was principal investigator for more than 20 research projects. He was also member of scientific board for several scientific conferences

Prof. Dr. Ana Lilia Laureano-Cruces was born in Mexico City. She obtained a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a Master's degree in Computer Sciences, and a Doctoral degree in Science at UNAM. She has been a full-time professor at Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana since 1987. She has more than 50 publications in the field of artificial intelligence. Between 1998 and 2000, she was a guest researcher at the Departamento de Sistemas del Instituto de Automática Industrial del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas de España en Madrid. Her principal research areas are: Multi-Agent Systems, Intelligent Systems applied to Education, Expert Systems and Affective Computing.
