Abstract:
A novel binary line-pattern algorithm for embedded fingerprint authentication system was proposed in this paper. Compared to the other representations, the proposed algorithm is very easily to be extracted, relatively has a small template size (e.g. 48-256 bytes according to 3-16 line-pattern pairs), and has non-strong correlation with minutiae information. Furthermore, the inspiring improvement of performance by combining the binary line-pattern with minutiae demonstrates that the proposed binary line-pattern is an efficient alternate representation of fingerprint besides the most widely used minutiae.
