ABSTRACT

Data hiding is a generic term which tackles wide range of issues and is not just embedding data into any digital medium. In the present effort we practice imperceptibly altering the contents of a gray scale image. This help in protecting the image content against piracy. The hidden pattern has to survive a wide variety of attacks that can be intentional or unintentional. Embedding the data patterns in low frequencies increases the robustness with respect to image distortions that have low pass characteristics like filtering, lossy compression, geometrical distortions. Data embedding in high frequencies cannot survive these distortions. On the other hand, High frequency embedding of data increases the robustness with respect to modifications, such as contrast/brightness adjustment, gamma correction, histogram equalization, Noise addition, and cropping. Low frequency embedding cannot survive such manipulations. Hence we propose to develop a multiple pattern embedding technique with blind detection, which can survive wide range of intentional or unintentional influences.
