Abstract:

The objective of this work is to study and develop a suitable algorithm for High Resolution (HR) reconstruction of images from a sequence of Low Resolution (LR) images obtained from an aerial reconnaissance platform. The transformation parameters between the sequence of images with only translation motion could be determined using frequency based methods. In the case of images having translation, rotation and scaling, a more accurate feature based approach using affine based registration is used to compute the transformation parameters. The different phases of the research work are initial estimation of the high resolution image using bi cubic interpolation, estimation of transformation parameters and a MAP estimation technique by minimizing a cost function.

Keywords: High resolution - reconstruction, Affine transformation
