Title: A Novel Time-Domain Reference-Computation Algorithm for Shunt Active Power Filters
Authors: H. Benalla and h. Djeghloud
Abstract: This paper investigates the new harmonic reference current detection algorithm introduced by W. G. Chang et al. applied to a three-phase shunt active power filter (APF) based on a two-level IGBTs voltage inverter. This approach, extracts current harmonic components from both the Fortescue transformation positive sequence of the supply’s voltage and the instantaneous active power consumed by the nonlinear load and forces the feeder current to be in phase with the positive sequence of the fundamental voltage component. Moreover, compared with the other algorithms, this method is applicable for balanced as well as for unbalanced systems. For sending pulses to the APF gates, we employed the carrier-based PWM strategy. For validating the theoretical study, simulation works, under Matlab-Simulink environment are provided. The obtained results seem satisfactory in harmonic compensation quality and power factor correction.
