Abstract: In this paper, a robust adaptive control algorithm for speed sensorless induction motor drive is presented. The main feature of this control algorithm is that minimum synthesis is required to implement the proposed strategy. It is known as model reference adaptive controller (MRAC). The MRAC appeared to be robust in the fact of totally unknown plant dynamics, external disturbances and parameter variations. The induction motor stator resistance variations eect on the rotor speed are rejected by the MRAC controller due to its robustness. However, the performance of the Indirect Stator Field Oriented Control (ISFOC) are shading o. It is so because the reference commands computation of the ISFOC are based on the induction motor model, which includes that resistance. Therefore, a combination of three observers is used : a Luenberger observer to obtain the rotor ux and a two MRAS observers for rotor speed and stator resistance estimation. Digital simulation results are presented to highlight the improvement in performances of the overall proposed control scheme.
