Title: Practical implementation of FC based GA for Speed Control of Brushless DC Motor

Abstract: This paper presents the practical implementation of a fuzzy controller (FC) based Genetic algorithm (GA) to improve the performance of BLDC motor. The GA is employed for adjusting FC inputs and output membership functions. The purpose is to test the ability of the proposed FC based GA to force the rotor speed of BLDC motor to follow a presented speed track. The objective of the proposed controller is to improve the performance of Brushless DC (BLDC) motor by minimizes the rise time, the steady state error, the setting time and the maximum overshoot. The presented experimental results reveal that the proposed controller has better performance compared with the PID controller.
