Title: A Shadow Detection Filter on the Basis of Colour-Structure-Code Algorithm

Abstract: In this paper we propose a fast and robust technique for analysing the following two problems: (a) automatic extraction of moving objects and (b) detection of moving shadow in image sequences. In (a) we apply a modified difference image-based approach for the extraction of moving objects in video sequences that taken from static camera. Then we use post-processing algorithms and shadow detection filter for suppression of the remaining errors by the segmentation. The goal of the shadow de-tection algorithm is to prevent moving shadows being misclassified as moving objects, thus avoiding the merg-ing of two or more objects into one and improving the accuracy of object description and localization. The effi-ciency of this suggested approach for moving objects segmentation will be demonstrated here on the basis of the analysis of strongly disturbed real image sequences.
