Title: Employing Generic Algorithms for precise Fingerprint Matching based on Line Extraction

Abstract: Most fingerprint matching systems rely on the distribution of minutiae on the fingertip to represent and match fingerprints. While the ridge flow pattern is generally used for classifying fingerprints, it is seldom used for matching. This paper describes a new method for fingerprint matching based on lines extraction and graph matching principles. This method adopts a hybrid scheme which consists of a genetic algorithm (GA) phase and a local search phase. Experimental results demonstrate the robustness of our algorithm to other methods. And results show that the speed is raised using this method in the overall of the most optimum.
