Title: Fuzzy kernel scatter-difference discriminant analysis for face recognition

Abstract: This paper presents an fuzzy kernel scatter-difference based discriminant analysis algorithm called FKSDA. This is a fuzzy extension of kernel scatter-difference based discriminant analysis (KSDA) algorithm. It can deal with both small sample size and nonlinear problems from which the performance of face recognition system are degraded. Experimental results on two face databases show that the proposed approach, using fuzzy logic, achieves a better performance in face recognition compared with the original KSDA algorithm.
