Title: Genetic Syndrome Identification using 2D Transform Approaches, a Comparative Study
Authors: Archana P. Ekbote and Varsha R. Ratnaparkhe
Abstract: This work focuses on comparative analysis of Radon and Gabor transform based approach. Gabor transform is commonly used for syndrome identification as per the referred literature. This transform technique chooses the required scale and orientation and finds features. In order to extract directional information, this paper proposes use of Radon transform. Comparative study of Radon transform and Gabor transform based features using Linear Discriminant Classifier (LDC), Quadratic Discriminant Classifier (QDC), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) with Radial Basis Function (RBF) kernel classifiers is presented in this work. Database of healthy children and syndrome affected children in the age group of 5 to15 years has been prepared for this work. Syndromes causing facial dysmorphy are considered for the work. Experimental results were compared and it is found that Radon based method performs better.
