Title: Electromagnetic Radiation from Vertical Dipole Antennas and SAR Distribution in Human Head Model using FDTD Technique
Authors: A. Rhattoy and M. Lahmer and A. Zatni
Abstract: In this paper, a three dimensional Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method is used to analyze a communication mobile handsets at 1800 MHz. Firstly the antenna input impedance, reflection coefficient (|S11|) and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) are presented. In second part we report the calculation of the near and far electromagnetic fields irradiated, the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) distribution induced in a simple computational model of the human head, and the effect of changing the distance between head and antenna. Next, the effect of frequency on the radiation pattern is studied.
